Closing day centres latest in crisis of care for elderly

New research from Unison reveals that 57 per cent of the areas surveyed (more than 100 areas in England, Wales and Scotland) report closures of day centres, something Unison calls “a false economy.” Publication of the research follows the launch of “Delivering Dignity”, the Commission on Improving Dignity in Care for Older People’s latest report.  A full article is available from The Guardian here.
