Coalition may agree cap on care costs for elderly

Published Dec 4th 2012

Currently, there is no government assistance for nursing home costs. Only the poorest citizens, whose assets, including homes, are worth less than £23,000, may receive financial support. However, as revealed by the Telegraph, plans are expected to be announced in early 2013 for capping care costs at £75,000 for all adults. If the proposals go ahead, the changes would take place in 2015.
