Dance may help urinary incontinence

Canadian and Swiss researchers recently completed a successful feasability study into managing urinary incontinence in older women.  The study added pelvic floor exercises to a dance routine that was part of a physiotherapy programe.

The results were very promising, with no dropouts from the program, a higher weekly participation rate and a greater decrease in daily urine leakage.  Clinical trials will be the next step.
