In August 2015, Alzheimer’s Disease International published its annual report containing updates on the costs and prevalence of the disease. Worldwide, 46 million people are currently living with dementia, with the number expected to rise to 74.7 million by 2030 and 131.5 million by 2050.
The report urges international collaboration on research and investment in care, especially as the total estimated worldwide cost is expected to reach US £1 trillion by 2018.
