Happiness is something you can work at

Laughology founder and CEO Stephanie Davies writes in a recent blog about 10 sets of skills that everyone can work on and develop to increase our emotional intelligence and happiness.

Exercise, eating well and getting out and about feature in the list, as does having a good laugh and working on developing your sense of humour.

My favourite is “Be optimistic.”

Davies says “being optimistic is about choice. While skepticism helps avoid risk, optimism is about looking for opportunities.

“Happiness is something you can work at. It’s about mind-set, choice and behaviours.”
