Is “weary” the wrong word?

Published Jan 16th 2012

If, as recent research by the Future Foundation suggests, the number of Working, Entrepreneurial and Active Retirees is rising, how much of the change is due to longer life expectancy and a desire to work, rather than a need to work due to decreasing pension funds?

It is likely that both reasons are applicable, but many of the older people I know would prefer to be referred to as something other than “weary.”  Experienced, creative and energetic are three suggestions!
