I think we know this. However, it is interesting to read the science behind the idea. A new paper recently published in Personality and Social Psychology Review examines the ways relationships support “individuals not only in their ability to cope with stress or adversity, but also in their efforts to learn, grow, explore, achieve goals, cultivate new talents, and find purpose and meaning in life.” Because most work has focused on how relationships help people through stressful times in life, researchers believe more work needs to be done on the positive roles of relationships in overall wellbeing.
