Rather than the current focus on where to die, the recently published report from campaign organisation Sue Ryder calls for a revolution in end of life care, saying it should include a range of considerations, including how people would like to die.
The report, called A Time and a Place, says that “Quality must be redefined based on what the care entails, not only where it takes place.”
And interestingly, “more people want to die in a hospice the closer they get to death. [These numbers are] most dramatic for those who already have experience of hospice care.”
