Shaping our Age: involved, active and valued

New Big Lottery-funded project Shaping our Age has found that more than half of the people over the age of 65 feel ignored and believe that society views them as a burden. And rather than “control” their health and wellbeing through “choice,” as the government calls it, they say they would rather “get involved” in a variety of ways, including being recognised for the lifetime of skills and knowledge they have built, and maintain an interesting social life.
