Eight academics, together known as the G8 due to their common specialisation in older people’s social work, recently published a study via The College of Social Work. Social work with older people: a vision for the future calls for a revival of gerontological social work as “vital to the efficiency and effectiveness of health and social care and to ensuring improved wellbeing for the increasing numbers of older people with multiple and complex needs.”
The report highlights issues and areas of life and work that can be positively affected by gerontological social work and provides evidence for the business case for investment in this field. You can read the full report here.
