From April 2012, the Commission will begin unannounced visits to home help organisations’ offices, as well as planned visits to patients homes. Inspectors will also privately interview elderly people about the care they are receiving. The Commission’s inspectors will be supported in this work by independent experts from Equality and Human Rights Commission, Age UK, the UK Homecare Association and the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services. More on the plans is available from The Daily Telegraph.
