Gender pension gap must be addressed

The European Women’s Lobby and AGE Platform Europe recently published a joint paper highlighting the increasing problems women in older age are facing as the welfare state continues to reduce in size.  Women generally have smaller pensions than men, due to a variety of factors, of which care duties is often a major influencer, and with continued reductions in public budgets, a glaring gap has opened up, particularly as life expectancy continues to grow.  Read the full paper here.
