Is England a happy nation?

As part of the growing international trend considering measurements of well-being essential additions to economic ones of national growth and development, the Office for National Statistics has recently published the results of its first subjective well-being survey results. Four questions were asked, including “Overall, how satisfied are you with your life nowadays?” and “Overall, how happy did you feel yesterday?” The majority of respondents rated their life satisfaction as medium or high. 49.8 per cent said their life satisfaction was 7-8, with 0 being not at all and 10 being completely. 26.1 per cent rated their life satisfaction as 9-10.
