More reason to exercise – it boosts memory

Published Jun 2nd 2014

A small study published online in the British Journal of Sports Medicine appears to show that regular aerobic exercise boosts the memory area of the brain in older women.  All the women who participated in the study were aged between 70 and 80 years old and living independently at home.  While researchers acknowledge that the findings are complex, and more study is needed, they do believe that at the least, regular aerobic exercise will help stave off mild cognitive decline.
