Research by Public Health England has found that dementia is now costing businesses £1.6bn a year as one in eight people look after someone with dementia and more than half of those attempt to juggle paid work with caring duties. Additionally, more than 50,000 Britons were found to have quit work to care for someone with the condition. Public Health England and The Alzheimer’s Society are working together on a new campaign to help create a more dementia-friendly society.
