Waltz to reduce falls

Published Nov 16th 2011

In the past, older people were encouraged to get regular exercise in order to reduce the potential for falls.  Now, new research suggests that a mix of movements using different parts of the body may be more effective prevention than just cycling or walking.  That is because activities such as waltzing demand a good sense of balance, something that is adversely affected by a number of different changes in aging bodies.  More about this research is available from The Daily Telegraph.
