New research by the Centre for the Modern Family has found that nearly half of people over the age of 60 live alone. With only a quarter of those over 75 receiving weekly visits, we must all consider how this news affects us and our loved ones. What would it be like to have little to no social interaction for weeks at a time? What can we do to help resolve this problem? Silk and Tweed can help – you can give time to someone as a gift; we can volunteer with a charity for older people; and we can all find a way to help someone even closer to home.
